Project Management Professional certification is a professional experience-based certification. Experience leading and directing projects is critical to a PMP® candidate’s success. Training alone is not sufficient to pass the exam.
The authorized training materials were developed by experts familiar with the exam content outline but these individuals did NOT participate in developing the PMP® exam.

New PMP® Exam 2026 – What Is Changing?
Did you know that a new PMP® exam will be launched in July 2026? The Project Management Institute (PMI) is updating the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification exam to reflect the evolving demands of the project management profession.
The New PMP Exam 2026 introduces updated learning resources and a stronger focus on the real-world skills and mindsets required to deliver value in modern organizations.

To keep pace with the rapidly evolving project environment, PMI is updating the PMP exam to better align with current industry practices.
The update reflects:

Key Dates for the New PMP Exam
- 14 April 2026 – Updated PMP learning resources become available
- 9 July 2026 – New PMP exam launched globally
- New Learning Resources Available from April 2026
Starting 14 April 2026, candidates will have access to new preparation resources including:
- Updated practice exams
- New instructor-led training programs
- The updated PMP exam will be fully rolled out worldwide on 9 July 2026.
Already Preparing for the PMP Exam?
If you have already started studying, continue your preparation with confidence. The core project management principles and approaches tested in the PMP exam remain the same.
However, candidates should be aware of the following:
- Those planning to take the current PMP exam version must complete the exam before 8 July 2026.
- Candidates who want to take the new PMP exam version should prepare using the updated resources available from 14 April 2026.

Am I Eligible for the PMP Exam?
Earning this certification is a commitment. That’s part of what makes it valuable. If you have real-world project management experience, you’ve finished the hardest part. Before you apply, make sure you meet one of the following sets of PMP Certification requirements:
Four-Year College / University Degree
36 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years
35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® certification
— or —
High School or Secondary School Diploma
60 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years
35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM® certification
Key PMP Exam Preparation Considerations & Exam Requirements:
- Current Exam: Candidates taking the exam before July 9, 2026, should continue to use the current study materials.
- Experience Requirements: Candidates now need to show project experience within the last 10 years (extended from 8 years).
- Important Update: PMP Exam Changes Effective July 9, 2026
- The updated PMP exam will be launched on July 9, 2026, in alignment with the PMBOK® Guide – 8th Edition. This new version places stronger emphasis on AI, sustainability, and delivering strategic business value, with a significant increase in the business environment domain to 26%.
- The exam format will also evolve, expanding to 185 questions (previously 180) and introducing more interactive question types.
- Key Updates in the PMP 2026 Exam:
- Revised Domain Weightage:
Greater focus on business environment topics, now accounting for 26% of the exam.
o Business Environment: 26% (previously 8%)
o People: 33% (down from 42%)
o Process: 41% (down from 50%) - Alignment with PMBOK® 8th Edition:
The exam reflects the updated framework featuring 6 core principles and 40 processes (reduced from 49), integrating both agile and predictive approaches. - Enhanced Syllabus Coverage:
Stronger focus on AI-powered decision-making, sustainability practices, and stakeholder engagement. - Updated Exam Format:
The exam will consist of 185 questions to be completed in 240 minutes, including new formats such as matching, hotspot, and dropdown questions. The content distribution will maintain a balanced 50/50 approach between predictive and agile/hybrid methodologies. - Preparation & Eligibility Updates:

Candidates planning to take the exam before July 9, 2026, should continue preparing with the existing syllabus and materials. - Updated Experience Requirement:
Applicants must now demonstrate project experience within the past 10 years (extended from 8 years).
